EARTHBRAIN Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Akinori Onodera, hereinafter referred to as “EARTHBRAIN”) is pleased to announce the launch of “Smart Construction 3D Machine Guidance Flex” (hereinafter “this service”), a retrofit kit that provides 3D machine guidance and travel history recording capabilities for existing construction machinery, such as bulldozers operating on-site.
This service uses IMU sensors and GNSS antennas mounted on the machine to determine its current position. By installing the dedicated tablet application “Smart Construction Pilot Flex”※1 in the operator’s cabin, users can perform construction work while referencing 3D design data in real time.
This retrofit kit can be installed on any type or brand of construction equipment, regardless of manufacturer or model.
When installed on a bulldozer, for example, the operator can view 3D design data, the vehicle's ground contact position, and travel history directly on the in-cab tablet, enabling more precise and efficient work.
In conventional ICT construction sites where physical staking (丁張) is no longer used, sharing 3D design data across the site typically required the use of expensive ICT-enabled machinery. However, with this service, affordable retrofit installation on conventional machines makes it possible for a wider range of vehicles to access and utilize 3D design data—leading to further productivity gains on-site.

Furthermore, by integrating this service with Smart Construction Dashboard※2, it becomes possible to visualize the travel history of various vehicles—including bulldozers and other construction equipment, as well as standard vehicles—as point cloud data. This enables easy monitoring and sharing of daily construction progress, as-built conditions, and overall site status.

1. Key Features
(1) Efficient operation in ICT-enabled construction sites without physical staking
By installing a tablet device equipped with the Smart Construction Pilot Flex app in the operator’s cabin, users can carry out construction work while checking 3D design data, the machine’s ground contact position, and travel history—even in staking-free ICT construction sites.
Differences between the design surface and the machine’s position are visualized as a heatmap on the travel history display.
(2) Retrofit installation on any vehicle, regardless of manufacturer or model
By retrofitting the system onto owned vehicles such as bulldozers or other construction equipment, users can collect accurate travel history data without depending on specific machine types or brands.
(3) Visualize vehicle movement as point cloud data to monitor site progress
By integrating with Smart Construction Dashboard, travel history data of construction machinery and vehicles operating on-site—such as bulldozers and trucks—can be visualized as point cloud data.
This allows for easy monitoring and sharing of daily progress, as-built conditions, and overall site status.
