Smart Construction VR is a solution that allows users to view and examine construction sites, recreated as digital twins using Smart Construction Dashboard ※1, through a VR device. Within the VR space, users can freely move in first-person view and switch between various data layers such as survey and design data to inspect the site. Even stakeholders located remotely can experience the actual site conditions and progress through immersive visuals.
This solution also helps foster understanding among local residents who normally cannot access the construction site, by providing them with realistic visualizations of the work area.
During the planning phase, 3D models of construction equipment and materials can be placed within the VR site to simulate real-world operations—such as construction machinery passing each other—and verify safety and work procedures. By preparing multiple VR headsets, several users can simultaneously enter the same virtual site and collaboratively review and discuss the construction plan.
Furthermore, using a VR controller, users can take basic measurements—such as coordinates, distances, and areas—to compare as-built site conditions with design data, making it also suitable for remote as-built inspections.

※1 “Smart Construction Dashboard” is a web application that precisely recreates actual construction sites as digital twins. It enables users to visualize and analyze the site remotely, including checking cross-sections and calculating earthwork volumes.
※2 To use Smart Construction VR, a dedicated license is required in addition to specific hardware such as a VR headset, VR controller, a PC with the required software installed, and a cable to connect the VR headset to the PC. As it is integrated with Smart Construction Dashboard, a separate Smart Construction Dashboard subscription is also necessary. Once site data is created in Smart Construction Dashboard, it can be used directly in VR without any special conversion or configuration for VR.
