EARTHBRAIN Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Akinori Onodera, hereinafter referred to as “EARTHBRAIN”) has launched sales of the “Smart Construction 3D Machine Guidance” today, now compatible with the full swing range of boom swing hydraulic excavators.

“Smart Construction 3D Machine Guidance” is a retrofit solution that enables conventional construction machines, such as hydraulic excavators and mini excavators, to be equipped with ICT capabilities—most notably 3D machine guidance—at an affordable cost and with easy installation.
Previously, when using this solution on boom swing hydraulic excavators, functionality was limited to operations within pre-defined swing angles. With the addition of a new angle sensor to the boom swing mechanism, the system now supports the entire swing range, allowing 3D machine guidance to be used throughout the full operating area. ※1 ※2
Customers currently using the standard version of “Smart Construction 3D Machine Guidance” can also upgrade to full swing capability by purchasing an additional sensor kit.

※1: At launch, full swing range support will be available for Komatsu models “PC30MR-5” and “PC45MR-5.” Support will be progressively expanded to include additional models, including boom swing hydraulic excavators from other manufacturers.
※2: To utilize 3D machine guidance across the entire swing range of boom swing hydraulic excavators, updates to the controller firmware and the “Smart Construction Pilot” application are required.
